When Gloucester-based Downton
consolidated three facilities into one
site, the storage and distribution
company turned to Jungheinrich’s
Systems and Project Division to
provide a racking scheme that not
only meets the present requirements
but is future-proofed to cope with
any change in the nature of the
goods stored at the facility.

With an 11m high top beam level,
the racking provides 12,600 pallet
locations on four beam levels (plus
floor level) and pallets are double
stacked to reduce the number of
beams required. Loads of up to 2.5t
can safely be stored at each pallet
location.
