This could have been a huge problem with the injured policeman not getting the correct PPE, and potentially being unable to work to his previous capacity. However, Polyco stepped in, providing the officer with suitable gloves to last him a lifetime – all as a goodwill gesture.

The officer, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “I would like to thank Polyco for all their efforts. A great deal of work has gone into this and the new gloves are fantastic – just what I need to enable me to fully perform my duties.”

Deputy Chief Constable Iain Spittal said: “It was really important that we tried every possible avenue to find suitable gloves for the officer, who was dedicated to continuing to protect the public across Cleveland on the frontline.”
