A new distribution centre the
size of 14 football pitches has
been built in Scotland for one
of the world’s largest online
retailers. With 24/7 footfall
and forklift movements, a
hard wearing flooring system
was required.

Main contractor Winvic
was appointed to complete
delivery of the single storey
warehouse in a 42 week
construction programme. To
complete the 80,000m2
flooring application,Winvic
turned to ABS Brymar who
opted for the durability and
performance of the Sikafloor-
2 SynTop system from Sika.

This is a one part, preblended,
coloured synthetic
dry shake hardener for
concrete comprising cement,
hard aggregates, compatible
admixtures and pigment. It
provides a hard wearing,
non-metallic dry shake
topping for monolithic floors.

When sprinkled and
trowelled into fresh wet
concrete floors, it forms a
durable, smooth surface.

SikaPlast 15RM concrete
admixture was incorporated
into concrete mixes for
external and internal floor
slabs, and Sikafloor Proseal
one-coat concrete curing
membrane was applied to
harden and seal the concrete.
