The Hire Association Europe, whose
membership includes companies
from the tool, equipment and plant
hire sectors, has been working with
suppliers of HAVS (hand arm
vibration syndrome) products to
raise awareness of the condition.

Reactec, which specialises in the
management of exposure to vibration
from power tools has become a
member of the Association and is
keen to increase the information
available on HAVS management. The
company has developed the
HAVmeter, a device which monitors
workers’ exposure to vibration
through the use of power tools.
