An online tool has been introduced
by EEF to help company directors
manage health and safety. The tool
has been backed by the HSE and is
free to access online at:
www.eef.org.uk/scorecard.

Sponsored by Travelers, a property
and liability insurer, it has been
developed in response to increasing
survey evidence from company
boards of the need for pragmatic
help in setting and monitoring KPI’s.

It identifies a mix of measures that
reflect a company’s past performance,
and how prepared it is to manage
risks and comply with legislation in
the future. Straightforward traffic
light reporting enables directors to
focus attention where it’s most needed.

The scorecard includes step-bystep
guidance, worked examples and
benchmark statistics as well as a proforma
report that can be downloaded.
