One of the UK’s fastestgrowing
waste management
companies specialising in
recycling waste paper
collection and processing
appointed Conveyor Systems
to design and install a system
to transport and reject
under/oversized large bales of
paper prior to entering a
stretch hooding machine.
Premier quality paper
material is collected and
sorted, baled and film
wrapped to protect the
content for shipping.
CSL installed two heavy
duty powered roller conveyors
to transport compressed
loads of paper from two
balers operating adjacently, at
either side of a dividing wall.
The new conveyors were
mounted onto existing
loadcell weighing platforms
and an ink-jet system printed
the registered weight onto
the side of the bale.
A 90° triple chain transfer
diverts and combines the
flow of bales onto a main
feed conveyor that is
interfaced with the stretch
hooder and an inverter turns
loads 180°. At this point, the
bale size and weight is
automatically checked and
any over or undersized bales
are removed by forklift to be
returned for recycling.
Conveyor Systems provided
all mechanical and electrical
installations, including
building control panels and
PLC. A light curtain provides a
safety zone around the stretch
hooder for protective access.
