STM joined the Balluff Group, earlier this year, bringing with it expertise in micro-optical components including a patented production process for LED, photodiode, phototransistor, and laser diode units.

As a result more than 500 products have been added to Balluff’s existing range and the company plans to expand further its sensor miniaturisation offering for industrial automation. In addition the integration of STM has opened new channels for growth into important markets for Balluff such as medical technology and laboratory automation.
