A wireless in-cab display showing
weighbridge weight is helping
Craven Grain maximise the loading
of outbound vehicles. The solution
from Avery Weigh-Tronix has halved
the manpower needed, increased the
speed and accuracy of loading and
improved health and safety on site.

Vehicles collecting grain from the
storage facility need to be accurately
loaded. They are initially loaded
from one of the stores before moving
onto the weighbridge. From here the
vehicle is topped up using a loading
shovel mounted on a tractor.

When shovel drivers had the bucket
in the air for loading, they could not
see the external weight display. This
meant a second person had to watch
the display and instruct the driver.

Avery Weigh-Tronix developed a
wireless remote display unit that is
mounted on the top of the windscreen
so the shovel driver can see current
weighbridge weight and look at the
shovel, while slowly tipping the load
into the trailer.
