Jaffabox technical director John Amyes said: "About 18 months ago we decided that our existing casemakers needed to be replaced. Although they were still producing good quality boxes, they were showing their age in terms of throughput speeds. So we set out to install the fastest and highest quality casemaker available."

Jaffabox had recently installed a BHS corrugator which moved it from being a large sheet plant to an integrated box plant, providing opportunities to supply customers with higher volume requirements. John Amyes continued: "We evaluated casemakers from all the leading suppliers and visited a number of sites in Europe. It became clear to us that the MHI Evol 100 met all our specifications and gave us confidence as a long term investment. It is one of the fastest of its type in the world and its speed, combined with the quality of the boxes it can produce, means Jaffabox can meet higher volume requirements and remain at the forefront in the current trends for ever higher quality print and more accurate folds."

To automate the system fully, Jaffabox has also installed a Corrpal high speed automatic palletiser, Alliance prefeeder and the new design Mosca Uatri bundle tying machine. To complete the project, the company has also installed a second Mosca pallet press and a new Avanti material handling system. John Amyes concluded: "Our latest multi-million pound investment will help Jaffabox preserve, well into the future, our long standing reputation for supplying customers with quality products delivered on time at a competitive price."
