Permalog+ noise loggers are used on
a ‘lift and shift’ basis to quickly find
and repair leaks.
The compact devices are deployed
around the water network to monitor
noise levels on pipes. Changes and
distinctive patterns in sound indicate
the presence of leaks. Battery-powered
and mounted onto pipes by a magnet,
they can continuously monitor
sections of pipe for signs of a leak.

Once found, various telemetry and
communication methods are
available to alert leak detection staff.

The ‘lift and shift’ temporary
installation method allows a smaller
number of units to cover a large
area, effectively ‘auditing’ the
network for leaks.
