The latest light curtains to join the
OY range from ifm electronic have a
range of up to 20m. They meet Type 4
to IEC 61496, SIL3 to IEC 61508 and
PLe to ISO 13849, and have a slim
housing that measures just 28 by
30mm. Beams are incorporated right
to the end of the housing, allowing
installation without deadband.

The long-range lightguards can be
supplied with resolutions of 20, 30,
40, 50 or 90mm; protected area
heights range from 160 to 1510mm
in 150mm increments.
