When a gantry crane
manufacturer’s festoon
systems were failing due
to corrosion, the company
switched to igus Energy
Chains cable carriers on
its gantry cranes.

The chain system is
mounted horizontally on
each machine where it
guides and protects more than 75m
of power cables. The cable carriers
are said to deliver a long
service life even in the
dusty, humid environment
found in paper mills, coping
with ambient temperatures
that can peak at 50°C, and
with up to 100% humidity.

Chains have openable
crossbars for easy access to
the cables.
