Specialising in the manufacture of lightweight 3.5t vehicles, KFS produces in excess of 120 units/year for a wide range of applications. Building predominately on a chassis converted Platform, base vehicles are either Fiat or Citroen, both cabs coming out of the same production facility in Italy. The cabs although identical visually, have different drive trains, the Fiat uses a 2.3L 130ps Euro 5 while the Citroen is a 2.2L 130ps Euro 5.

The Plant & Go range on which the new vehicle is based has been in service for four years. The chassis conversion is fully type approved and recognised by the base vehicle supplier, so the front end warranty is not compromised. The vehicle has torsion bar rear suspension which allows the floor to sit just 530mm off the ground.  

The vehicle deck is an extruded aluminium plank. The floor is fixed and glued directly to the chassis and a bonded GRP collar gives both a smooth transition from cab to body, and additional structural strength.

The lift on the first two vehicles built is a DEL GB500G which has been designed for the movement of gas and air bottles. Vehicles have a kerb weight of less than 2000kg so can carry up to 1500kg if plated at 3.5t (higher payloads available on 4.5t vehicles).
