Koch Membrane Systems has
introduced the SPIRAPRO system, a
crossflow MF, UF, NF and RO
filtration process development tool
for pharmaceutical and
biotechnology applications.

The equipment enables
evaluation of the major
process parameters and
scale-up design for largescale
production system
design. It covers a range
of applications for product stream
clarification, concentration, desalting
and purification.Membrane filtration
offers suspended solids and macro
molecules (proteins or colour) removal
and enables downstream recovery of
peptides, amino and organic acids,
sugars, antibiotics, and catalysts.
The system accommodates spiral
wound membrane elements and feed
volumes can be processed with the
25L on board vessel or larger volume
processing from an external
vessel. The system is equipped
with temperature, flow and
pressure up to 40 bars
regulation enabling process
optimisation. System skid
incorporated, ATEX
compliant, control panel
enables data acquisition of the
main operating parameters.

enables system design validation and
provides traceability of all materials of
construction.
