Skip Units Group member,
Randalls Fabrications has
supplied two more Simpak
1800 traversing waste
compactors for use on the
Winsel Civic Amenity and
Recycling Centre in
Pembrokeshire.

The new compactors
replace two ageing Simpak
1800 units which had
performed well throughout
their working life at the site.

One of a comprehensive
range of Randalls
compactors, the Simpak 1800
has a 1.7m3 charge box and,
in the case of the Winsel
machines, a 11Kw motor
driving up to a nominal
150m3 an hour, at a
compaction force of
28,000Kgf.

The compactors in this
application have been
specially modified with an
uprated power pack and
hydraulic cylinder in order to
give a faster return stroke and
so speed cycle time.

The Simpak design
features a main control panel
together with the main
isolator at the rear of the
machine.

The traversing version of
the compactor is fitted with
adjustable clamps for
container connection and
hydraulic automatic docking
by means of a secondary
traversing bogie.
