Visilab's AK30 portable moisture meter which was introduced in 2010 measures moisture accurately and is very successful in measuring different type of papers includiing cigarette paper, kraft papers, security papers, liners, SC paper.

It is also used in corrugated box manufacturing, wallpaper manufacturing and cellophane production. With an accuracy of 0,1-0,3% it is said to be the only instrument that can measure from a running web. It can also measure moisture profiles from reels.

The AK40GWP works with same principles as AK30 but it has been further developed for especially profile measuring in different positions in paper & board machines and felts.

 Features include:

– The new optical head is protected against overheating with a cover and air purge
– The air purge will also keep away steam condensation
– There is a round-headed bar for maintaining a good sense of the running web.  – this will help in getting more repeatable results in difficult conditions – the bar is removable for fully non-contact operation

The AK40GWP is the same instrument but with a different box to fit into converting machines.

The AK40GWP is suitable for measuring the aqueous adhesive layer on a roller or paper surface.

It can be mounted on a scanner for profile reading. Generally, 'glues are expensive and by measuring the amount of glue the amount can be minimised without collapsing the gluing quality.
