ERIKS has launched a programming,
repair and full-function testing
service for Elau Servo Motors. The
solution is expected to benefit
engineers working in the meat slicing
and packaging machine industry.

The Elau Servo Motors require
specific diagnostic and repair
facilities. This is because the
commutation devices are in constant
communication with the drive; they
are dynamically tested using the Elau
Pac-Drive MC-4 servo controller.

The motors use a hiperface encoder;
this carries an eeprom that contains
motor data that the drive uses to run
the motors in an Elau Pac-Drive
system. If the eeprom is programmed
incorrectly the motor will not run.

Following reverse engineering of
Elau Motors and the Elau MC-4 Pac-
Drives, ERIKS developed the capability
to programme and test these motors.
