A Revlok mezzanine can be
dismantled and re-erected
elsewhere, as Manchesterbased
Trafford Brake and
Hose discovered when it
moved from one part of
Trafford Park industrial
estate to another.

The company installed a
Revlok mezzanine in 2005. It
proved so cost-effective that
Andy Donaldson, director,
wondered whether the floor
could be moved from one
building to another. The
company contacted Doity
Engineering and discovered
that this was possible.

The original platform was
17.8 by 8.2m with a 2.66m
clearance at ground-floor
level. Its modular nature
meant it was relatively
straightforward to dismantle
the steel structure and
modify it for the new, slightly
smaller warehouse.

At 13.6 by 9.6m, the resited
mezzanine has decking
made from high density
particle board and first-floor
access via a specially made
steel staircase with horizontal
safety hand rails.

Dismantling, re-sizing and
re-installing the floor took
just three weeks.
