The new NEBOSH Award in Safety,
Health and Environment for the
Process Industries will help employers
and employees demonstrate
competence in general health and
safety, process safety and
environmental
management.

It was
developed in
conjunction
with Cogent,
the Sector
Skills Council
for the Process
Industries, employers, National Skills
Academy for the Process Industries
and NEBOSH/NSAPI accredited
providers, and is a key part of
Cogents Gold Standard.

The introductory qualification has
four units:Workplace safety; fire,
electrical and transport safety;
manual handling; and hazardous
substances. The second unit looks at
risk assessment. Unit 3 deals with
process safety including common
risks and controls; containment; plant
integrity and emergency response.
