Parker Hannifin has
introduced a new
firmware release and
PROFINET connectivity
to its family of Compax3
intelligent servo drives.

The new firmware
release, R09-10, supports
new rotary capacitive
feedback systems, both
single and multi-turn, from Sick-
Stegman for SMH servo motors and
MX80L linear motors.

The PROFINET option I32 is
available for all versions of
Compax3, including the C3S, C3M
and C3H screw versions and the
C3Ffluid version. Compax 3 offers a
range of programme drive solutions
that provide users with both single
and multi axis servo drive options
between 1 and 110kVA. The range is
suitable for use with all common
types of motors,
actuators, and feedbacks
including sine
commutated
synchronous and
asynchronous motors,
torque motors, linear
servo motors and voice
coil motors; resolvers,
sine cosine in single or
multi-turn versions, Hiperface or
EnDat interfaces, analogue and
digital hall sensors, and distance
coded, rotary and linear encoders.

Compax3 is set up using Parker’s
integrated engineering tool software.

Based on PLCopen motion control
function blocks, this includes
features such as integrated online
help, automatic debugging, and
IEC61131-3 programming.
