New workshops
Quartzelec, an international electrical engineering group, has acquired new workshop premises in Grimsby to which it will re-locate from its existing site, enabling it to better meet the needs of its growing customer base when it comes to providing rewinds, repairs and services for low voltage and medium voltage electrical motors and generators.
A key factor in the acquisition of the new workshop was its two 6.3t overhead cranes which means Quartzelec can more easily work on larger electrical motors, up to 12.6t. Other key facilities include a large burn out oven and a large bake off oven; an electronic winding machine; plus a vertical and a separate horizontal head cutter. There is a separate winding area for everyday repairs as well as a dedicated clean room.
