Online EC application
Since 30th June 1995 manufacturers of PPE have been obliged to follow a defined procedure including affixing a CE mark to the product before it can be placed on the European market. Part of these defined procedures involve commissioning a third party organisation, officially known as a Notified Body, such as SATRA to carry out an EC Type Examination – this includes both product testing and review of technical documentation.
To make the task easier for its customers SATRA has introduced a facility to its website to enable manufacturers to apply online. The system uses email confirmation to ensure any application is securely validated and is directly submitted to the SATRA assessor efficiently. PPE manufacturers are invited to apply at http://www.satra.co.uk/ppeforms/
SATRA will still accept traditional application forms either submitted via email or in hard copy accompanying test samples.
