SSI Schaefer has helped Longchamp optimise its logistics centre in Segré, France, modernising and automating its order picking and dispatch system, resulting in increased productivity.

A solution was needed that allowed both shelving-based packaging of articles and order-based compilation of packages to be delivered accurately to boutiques, and increased dispatch output was needed to cover seasonal peaks. SSI Schaefer’s ‘Pick and Pack’ order picking solution is used mainly for shelving-based packaging of products. Conveyor technology combined with an automated order start and an order picking system with wireless terminals and WAMAS IT control system ensure optimal routes in the warehouse and efficient order picking.
