Many sewage sludge mixing
applications use submersible, guiderail
type mounted mixers on the
basis that they are easy-to-install and
remove due to the guide rail system.

However, some can be vulnerable to
failure, usually due to ragaccumulation
on rotating parts.

retrofit in-tank mixing systems and
has completed a number of
installations across the UK.

A recent requirement has been to
develop a ‘Mini Drop’ retrofit mixing
system that can be installed into a
tank without having to empty and
clean it and to use existing guide rails
and lifting equipment. It provides
effective mixing for tanks where
there is a suitable suction connection
for re-circulation through the guide
rail mounted vertical nozzle
manifold header.

The System Mix Mini-Drop uses a
powerful external Vaughan Chopper
Pump. No tank entry is required to
install or remove the system, and
orientation of the nozzle can be
adjusted. All submersible parts are in
316 stainless steel.
