A new hybrid farm vehicle uses 4 x
33kW motors to drive each wheel
separately, with active slip control on
each. The unit also supplies connected
equipment with a variety of AC or
DC voltages to a maximum power of
80kW to allow remote working.

Braking is a mix of conventional
friction brakes and regenerative
braking. An REO water-cooled
braking resistor handles emergency
conditions. REO ensured that the
resistor was able to dissipate the
required electrical power in all
conditions and that it is robust
enough to be mounted on a vehicle.
