Screed fits the bill for food company
For a new production area at a food factory in Leeds, a hard-wearing and fast-applied flooring system was needed that would offer long term performance durability. Using its industry expertise and experience of challenging flooring projects across the globe, Sika delivered a solution using a high strength screed that can withstand constant traffic and heavy pallet loads.
Following the removal of the latex flooring, more than 600m2 of Sikafloor 20N Purcem was applied at a 6mm depth to a large production area at Tropic Foods by specialist flooring contractor, Ultrasyntec.
Highly resistant to chemicals, fatty acids and temperature, Sikafloor 20N Purcem is a polyurethane modified cement screed offering a high degree of strength and because it normally requires no primer, installation is less complex than for many other systems.
Sikafloor systems are designed to meet all industry requirements for mechanical and chemical resistance, impermeability and fire resistance. Developed to offer excellent protection to floors subjected to heavy loading, abrasion and high chemical exposure, Sikafloor 20N Purcem proved an effective solution for the high-traffic production facility.
