Harlow Group, a specialist in
precision sheet metal
components and assemblies
has installed a Safan E-Brake
35-1250 (35t pressure force x
1250mm working width) to
replace two old machines.

Marc Boulden, MD, says:
“The arrival of the Safan EBrake
in April is the first in a
programme to replace nine
press brakes over the coming
years. Safan said I wouldn’t
require the expenditure of a
service contract as their
machines never break down.

Customers we visited were
able to verify this fact; (one
hadn’t had any problems in
10 years); I was sold.”
The decision to opt for an
E-Brake is already paying
dividends. According to
Harlow Group, cycle times
have been cut by 25-30% and
set-up times halved.

Boulden explains that the
company wants to apply the
Formula One tyre-change
model to press brake
operations. He says the Safan
E-Brake is easy to program
and use and that no special
knowledge is required.
