In particular, the company will be explaining why it’s not just motors that need to be considered when designing systems that will meet the requirements of the ErP (Energy-related Products) Directive.

Among the products on Eaton’s stand will be its PowerXL DE1 Variable Speed Starters, which are designed to bridge the gap between a conventional fixed-speed starter and a variable speed drive. IE3-ready motor control gear that is guaranteed to be fully compatible with the latest high-efficiency motors will also be a focus at the stand. 

“New directives and standards are challenging the pump industry to come up with ways of increasing energy efficiency while keeping costs down,” said Stuart Greenwood, product marketing manager – industrial control and automation, Eaton. “The first step to addressing these requirements was for motor manufacturers to develop high efficiency products, which they have done very successfully.”
