Building on their success in 2010, the co-locating Aero Engineering and Composites Engineering Shows are key events in the UK engineering calendar this year. Co-locating in 2011 at the NEC, Birmingham, on the 9th and 10th November, each will provide a technology showcase and business forum for UK advanced engineering sectors, with major new expansion in exhibitors, visitors and content.

They will also benefit from the synergies provided by two new colocating events addressing the UK’s advanced engineering capabilities: Energy Engineering 2011, and the Plastic Electronics Show 2011.

In Aero Engineering – The Supply Chain Fair and Congress, additional names from the metrology, test, CAD/CAM, propulsion and systems sectors will join the existing core sectors of tooling, finishing, design, and component manufacturers.

This year’s show also introduces an ‘Aero Test Focus’, attracting additional test engineers and decision makers, which, according to Ian Stone, director of UK Tech Events – organiser of the 2011 shows – “reflects the importance of testing as a critical component of innovation”.

Following its launch in September 2010, the Composites Engineering Show expands further in 2011and has already been enjoying an impressive exhibitor booking rate, with organisations offering products and solutions across: raw materials; semifinished products; design, analysis, simulation and processing technologies; composite parts, components and structures; equipment and ancillary services such as machining, tooling, joining, finishing, curing, testing and so on; as well as maintenance and recycling technologies.
