The encoders do not require a bearing point – the angle detection system features an external magnet. With a diameter of 13mm and weighing about 10g, they can be integrated easily into machines and plants with limited installation space.

Different versions are available – with a 12 Bit resolution and measuring ranges to 360°. For instance they can be used in railway vehicles, replacing trimmer potentiometers and ensuring high-resolution operation of measuring devices. Further uses include energy and water management applications such as offshore wind turbines. Two ratiometric 0.5 – 4.5V DC outputs deliver redundant signals. Due to their contact-free magnetic measuring principle, FSG says the encoders are virtually wear-free.
