PCB Piezotronics has introduced a
new Smart Vibration Switch. the
company says Model 686BO1 is fully
user-programmable, competitively
priced and can be used to replace most
popular mechanical vibration switches.

The device requires just two wires
for operation, which eliminates the
need to run additional cables and, with
Remote Reset Anywhere, climbing a
cooling tower to
reset a tripod is
no longer
necessary.

The switch is
also said to
provide a low
cost solution for
many electronic
vibration switch
applications requiring a single relay.

The Smart Vibration Switch
includes an embedded piezoelectric
accelerometer for accurate vibration
measurement and monitors velocity.

It operates from a universal power
source (24 to 240VAC or VDC), has
programmable delays to avoid false
trips, is hermetically sealed and can
be used in hazardous locations.
