Lapauw International, a
manufacturer of industrial
laundry, drying & ironing
machinery, has installed eWON
industrial routers and Talk2M, an
Internet-based remote maintenance
and diagnostics service, on its
machines.

The eWON/Talk2M system
guarantees a secured VPN connection
between Lapauw service engineers
and the PLC on the customer’s
machinery. This enables engineers to
continuously monitor the machinery
in real time and even perform PLC
updates. In addition, the PLC on the
machine sends data back to the
Lapauw machinery support team.

This information is archived
centrally, for future evaluation.

Lapauw is now able immediately
to make the correct diagnosis and
take corrective action to resolve any
machine software problems. The main
advantage is that its technicians no
longer have to travel to site, as Lapauw
is able to work with local technicians.

On average, Lapauw is halving its
costs, as the majority of the cases
involve software problems, which
can be resolved using the eWON &
Talk2M remote access system.

The Talk2M platform uses only
Internet traffic via https, so is simple
to install on virtually any network.
