Energys Services now provides a
carbon-cutting sound investigation
service to identify compressed air or
pressurised gas leaks.

A trained ESL technician uses a
digital probe to listen to an
organisation’s pipework and
machinery, identifying problems that
may be costing the company money
and adding to its carbon footprint.

The service allows organisations to
find even the smallest compressed
air, pressurised gas or vacuum leaks,
and identify faulty valves and steam
traps. According to the Carbon Trust,
even a leak of 3mm diameter could
cost more than £700/year in wasted
energy; that figure is generally
greater for gases.

The system can also be used to
find out if bearings in machinery are
under- or over-lubricated or nearing
the end of their life.

Each ESL survey is followed up by
a report, which identifies the costs of
each problem and the remedial
works that need to be undertaken.
