Test the fit of your footwear

Supertouch has put together a step-by-step guide to testing the fit of safety footwear:

•    Before trying on safety boots, make sure the socks you have on will be those that you will wear for the job.
•    Test the boots at the end of your day as this tends to be when feet are at their largest.
•    Before lacing up, push feet forward and see if you can fit a finger behind your heel. This is a good indication of correct size.
•    Once boots are done up, start walking, try some knee raises, hop and squat. Slowly roll onto the sides of your feet; your ankles should still feel adequately supported.
•    Remove the boots and check your feet. Red marks highlight pressure points and hot spots.
•    Lace the boots in a Heel Lock pattern to help hold your heel in place and ensure your ankle is supported, This removes pressure from the front of the boot.
