According to Whitney, concerns
over the safety of forklift tipping
skips have been ongoing for many
years. There have been a number of
accidents due to the operator
neglecting to secure the skip to the
forklift truck with either a safety
chain or heels pins.When the mast is
tilted forward to facilitate tipping,
the skip then slides off the forks.

Another safety issue is that the
operator has to get off of the forklift
truck to pull the tipping release lever
with the skip raised. The alternative
is to have an assistant pull the lever,
putting themselves in a potentially
dangerous position by the front
wheel of the forklift.

To overcome these problems
Whitney offers the ATF skip which
has an automatic locking system
securing the skip behind the fork
heels along with an automatic
tipping mechanism. In addition to
improved safety, efficiency is
enhanced as the operator does not
