The tool balancers are said to provide ergonomic efficiency and, when mounted above the work bench, keep tools tidy and the bench top accessible at all times. Thorite says buyers can save up to 60% of costs compared to similar balancers from some other manufacturers. 

The CKOSB range, for example, weighs in at 0.4kg, but easily supports a load of 0.5 to 1.5kg, with a stroke/drop length of 1800mm and a cable size of 2mm, making it suitable for equipment such as drills, screwdrivers and smaller air tools. Top of the range CKOSB-5 supports tools of 3 to 5kg.
