EasiHeat now features the Spirax Intelligent Monitoring System (SIMS), a control and monitoring display technology that makes it easy to save energy and control critical applications. The technology uses a colour touchscreen interface to deliver to operators key performance data, such as steam use, fuel consumption and temperature. This helps operators to monitor energy use more closely and adjust the system to optimise efficiency. The interface is intuitive and can be used by operators with limited control experience.

The company says that even without the addition of SIMS, Spirax EasiHeat systems typically offer between six and 10% energy savings compared with traditional systems based on shell-and-tube exchangers. The new system delivers a further 10% energy saving on average by ensuring that all useful energy is extracted from the steam before the resulting condensate is returned to the boiler.

EasiHeat is a ready-to-install engineered system that uses steam in a compact, plate-and-frame heat exchanger to provide instant hot water for space heating, domestic hot water (DHW), or process applications. The resulting supply of hot water is available on-demand, without the need for a buffer or storage tank. Controls are matched to the system, enabling an EasiHeat unit to control output temperatures to within ±1°C.
