Petroleo Brasileiro, Brazil’s stateowned
energy company, has awarded
a multi-million dollar contract to
Ametek Solidstate Controls for
uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
systems at Comperj Oil Refinery.

A typical UPS system consists of
inverter and battery charger. For the
harsh environment of an oil platform,
power plant or petrochemical facility,
an industrial-grade system is required.

These use passive electronic and
magnetic components that are better
suited to industrial environments
than standard UPS systems.
