Portakabin has achieved its
objective of zero waste to
landfill at its manufacturing
centre in York a year ahead of
its December 2013 target.

This follows improvements to
waste management processes,
which have included waste
streaming and segregation for
recycling. Non- recyclable
waste is incinerated for power
generation.

Portakabin has achieved a
reduction in carbon output of
7.5% as part of the
Government’s Carbon
Reduction Commitment.

This was principally achieved
with a reduction in heating
oil consumption.

Development of the new
Portakabin Solus and Titan
Energy-Saver range which is
designed to reduce energy
use by more than 60%, allows
building occupiers to meet
environmental and carbon
reduction targets and reduce
running costs. The buildings
have the capability to achieve
an Energy Performance
Certificate ‘A’ rating.

Portakabin says its
modular buildings have a
