SSI Schaefer has installed a
new warehouse management
system with voice picking
technology for wholesaler,
UNIFIX SWG. It has reduced
errors and improved quality
of work and productivity.

SSI Schaefer transferred
the UNIFIX storage and
distribution warehouse in
Terlano from a manual to a
partially automated system. A
WAMAS warehouse
management system was
installed and the warehouse
reorganised to match the
picking stations connected to
the conveyor system.

Products are registered at
the goods-in department in
order to send information to
the ERP system.Voice picking
technology is used in picking
stations with dynamic staging,
which are organised and
driven by the system. The
WAMAS is responsible for
the routing of conveyor paths
until products in the goodsout
department are stored in
a buffer (automated smallparts
warehouse).
