Previously, three 1988 bearing frame centrifugal pumps were blocking with rags about four times a week and sometimes more. With over 200 man hours, and repairs costing up to £22k per annum, costs were mounting. 

Hidrostal removed the existing pumps and installed three E125 screw centrifugal impeller immersible pumps, 15kW, 4 pole, star delta starting. These were chosen due to their reputation for efficient handling of high volume rags and fat and, since their installation in 2011, there have been no blockages
