Development suite opens
A new support facility that allows proof-testing of all change software prior to delivery offshore, is opened by Nexen Petroleum UK, a CNOOC Limited company, and housed on its behalf at the Altens, Aberdeen premises of ABB. The facility ensures that the UK’s largest producing field remains in production, even during periods of online modification.
Warm air heaters
Powrmatic has supplied seven NVS condensing warm air heaters and 11 CECx destratification fans to Eberspächer UK’s newly constructed warehouse and test facility at Ringwood in Hampshire. The units were specified and installed by PWB Industrial Heating Service.
Temperature device upgrade
ABB’s latest generation of head mounted smart temperature transmitters have helped to provide a clever solution to a tricky upgrade project at Tata Steel in Port Talbot. ABB’s solution involved thirty TTH300 temperature transmitters being used to replace Hartmann and Braun field mounted units installed in 1981 without the need for extensive retrofitting work.

British cars are being made with more British-sourced components as the UK automotive industry’s renaissance continues apace, new research reveals. Figures from a new Automotive Council report show that domestic component makers sold 19% more products to UK vehicle producers last year than in 2013.
