PTFE seals needed to be replaced on a 6 to 12 month operating cycle at a Finnish manufacturer of process refractometers that was using process media at temperatures from -20 to +220°C and pressures from 0.7 to 25 bar. The seals were then replaced with Kalrez custom gaskets and there has been no fluid leakage over a 10 year period, even though the sealing products were subjected to permanent in-line fluids immersion.

When operating an oil-fired boiler the overall efficiency of the fuel is largely due to the particle size of the oil and its viscosity which requires accurate measurement of temperature and pressure to give a consistent fuel jet and maximise the efficiency of the burner. Bürkert has developed a range of pressure transmitters which provide a standardised 4-20mA output and are easily integrated into the control loop to provide accurate data.
