Throughout its autumn and winter programme FLIR Systems’ Infrared Training Centre (ITC) will continue to offer a range of courses that take the camera user from novice to expert and provide valuable guidance for specific applications.
When Milton Keynes-based electrician Gary Fisher was given the opportunity to ‘road test’ a FLIR C2 thermal imaging camera and CM174 clamp meter, he wanted to see how much value these devices could add to his work.
Several technological milestones in the development of thermal imaging have prompted its transition from specialist detection tool to one optimised for mainstream use. These advances have resulted in the technology becoming a primary method for electro-mechanical fault detection and for investigating the causes of energy loss. Andrew Baker – sales director North Europe – FLIR Systems, explains more
Pixel numbers are important in thermal imaging for clearer thermal pictures and easy diagnosis. Until year-end, FLIR Systems is offering higher image resolution for the same price in a promotion to demonstrate pixel power. It’s possible to buy a FLIR E6 for the price of a FLIR E5 and a FLIR E5 for the price of a FLIR E4.

A thermal imaging camera is now a primary means of monitoring the performance status of plant, equipment and buildings. Andrew Baker, sales director North Europe – FLIR Systems outlines the latest developments
FLIR Systems has introduced the T530 and T540 professional thermal imaging cameras, designed for thermographers who operate in a variety of environments including power generation, electrical distribution, and research laboratories. These new cameras offer enhanced ergonomics with 180° rotating optical blocks, laser-assisted autofocus, and auto-calibrating lenses that are interchangeable with select FLIR camera models.
Thermal imaging cameras from FLIR are helping Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, manufacturer of instrument panels and cockpit systems, monitor the efficiency of its IR welding process.
With the sophistication of thermal imaging cameras growing with each generation, it is easy to forget that the efficiency and accuracy of these devices is very much dependant on the knowledge and skill of the user. That’s why FLIR Systems’ Infrared Training Centre (ITC) is going back to basics for its next webinar.
