Nederman launches new innovative ambient clean air solution

20 March 2024

GLOBAL ENVIRONMENTAL technology company, Nederman, has launched its new air filtration system, MCP Air Purification Tower, with continuous duty filtration designed to protect workers from airborne hazards in fabrication environments.

Nederman is a global leader in industrial air filtration and innovates the most advanced dust collection technology. The MCP Air Purification Tower captures dust and fume suspended in the air, filters the air through advanced nanofiber filter media and returns clean air in favourable air-flow patterns to maintain clean air in the workspace.

The nanofiber filter media, with its thin layer of synthetic fibres on the filter surface, enhances energy efficiency and significantly extends the filter life compared to conventional filter media. This not only boosts performance but also establishes it as a sustainable choice for air filtration solutions. With the new Air Purification Tower, Nederman further strengthen its world leading position and in particular its business in the welding industry.

Benefits of ambient filtration to achieve air quality goals

Welding produces dust, smoke and fumes containing toxic and carcinogenic substances that are harmful for humans to inhale. All industries with welding applications must manage the welding fumes in accordance with current regulations. Investing in proper extraction for welders, robots or other thermally generated fume is an essential component of a clean, safe, healthy and sustainable operation.

The Air Purification Tower's state-of-the-art features and innovative design makes the product suitable for many welding or nuisance dust applications when source capture using extraction arms or local hoods may not be practical or sufficient to achieve compliance. The Air Purification Tower is significantly beneficial for operations that weld on large fabrications that require a large degree of movement or in areas where overhead obstructions such as cranes, prevent duct from being used. It also benefits as an additional layer of air filtration to complement source capture or on-torch fume extraction as well as provide general ventilation or nuisance dust that needs to be filtered.

"With the new Air Purification Tower we fulfil a need that has existed on the market. Exposure to weld fume is proven to cause respiratory diseases including cancer and with our experience, we see it as our responsibility to help manufacturers to create a safe, efficient and compliant working environment," said Krzysztof Kwiatkowski, strategic product manager at Nederman.

Nederman has the most complete line of fume extraction solutions in the world and works with fabricators to tailor a solution to their specific needs. The MCP Air Purification Tower allows Nederman to take another step in broadening its range of air filtration solutions.
