With more drive applications
utilising water as a cooling medium,
REO will be introducing a new range
of water cooled drive peripheral
components. In many instances the
use of water allows drive enclosure
sizes to be reduced and allows higher
ingress protection ratings for
challenging environments.
In many of these applications there are requirements for braking resistors, chokes and RFI filters. REO says in the past the considerable losses presented by these components have compromised the efficiency and success of the system as a whole. It now offers water cooling for all of its comp onents, allowing up to 95% of the power losses in components such as input and output chokes and brake resistors to be transferred to the cooling medium.
