Ecotile: first on the grid

15 September 2014

Ecotile has worked with National Tyres to install an interlocking floor system as part of an expansion programme that includes new premises and the refurbishment of existing sites.

Carlo Lamanuzzi, property director of National Tyres explains: "Ecotile offered a safe, comfortable working environment. Maintenance is easy; if you accidentally damage a tile, it can be lifted and replaced within a couple of minutes.

"Our team loves the new floor. Not only has the appearance of the facilities been lifted dramatically, the floor is comfortable underfoot and for floor-work, and the acoustics within the buildings have been significantly improved.”

National Tyres selected Ecotile’s 7mm loose lay interlocking tiles, with an open joint dovetail design.  This can withstand high point loading, impact and vibration and is suitable for heavy foot and vehicle traffic. National Tyres chose black and graphite as the main body of the tiles, with a red or yellow border around working bays as an additional safety feature. Furthermore, the tiles can be produced in own-brand livery, including logo tiles for added impact.

Installation is fast and simple, with zero or minimal downtime. Tiles can be installed without the requirement for a damp proof membrane, screed or adhesive, reducing VOC emissions, installation time and cost. Injection moulded using compound with excellent wear characteristics, chemical resistance and stable electrical properties, Ecotile flooring is easy to maintain.

Ecotile designs and produces its range at its UK production facility, providing durable and safe flooring solutions that can be installed with minimal disruption.
