Safety high on ladder agenda
12 February 2019
The HyperLite SumoStance ladder from Little Giant combines safety, strength, low weight and a no-quibble 5-year warranty against any manufacturing defect. TB Davies in Cardiff is one of the first of Little Giant’s preferred global partners to make the ladder available in Europe.

The ladder’s non-conductive ‘Hi-Viz’ green rail can help avert accidents caused by people who walk or drive into an extension ladder in use because the ladder was not visible. The propriety construction is said to deliver maximum torsional strength and is lighter than many manufacturer’s lightest ordinary extension ladders.
SumoStance safety folding outriggers
The most common ladder accidents are caused by over-reaching, working on uneven surfaces, and stepping from the ladder to the roof and back. The HyperLite SumoStance extension ladder features Little Giant’s patented SumoStance levelling outrigger system, which more than doubles the ladder’s base width and increases side-tip stability. The SumoStance’s intuitive safety features help ensure a safe, stable set-up for any job on almost any surface and fold flat for easy transport and storage.
Ground Cue
Ground Cue is a bottom rung signal (sensory and audible) that trains the operator to feel and hear an audible alert reminding him or her it is safe to step off the ladder. TB Davies says that, according to a study published by the American Ladder Institute, missing the bottom-rung causes almost 20% of all ladder-related falls, and that combining the Ground Cue with the wide flat rungs and the lighter construction can help prevent injuries such as plantar fasciitis, spine-related problems, ankle sprains, and knee ligament tears.
