The importance of washroom hygiene
27 March 2023
WASHROOMS MUST be kept clean and hygienic to protect the health and safety of staff.
High-frequent touch points, such as toilet lids, seats and doors should cleaned with an all-purpose or alcohol-based cleaner, as acid-based cleaners can stain.
Use acidic deep cleaners for wall tiles, scrubbing with a green manual pad to remove dirt and oils, then rinse with clean water and wipe with a rubber squeegee for a professional finish.
On larger surface areas, a high-pressure cleaner on cold operation with a foam device attachment, such as the Cup Foam Lance Advanced, is an economical solution.
For taps, shower heads, and mixing valves, limescale-dissolving cleaning agents with citric acid should be applied with a non-abrasive cleaning cloth rather than sprayed directly on to the surface, then rinsed thoroughly to prevent damage.
Scrubber dryers with a roller brush head and an acidic deep cleaner are highly effective for washroom floors, like the BR 35/12Bp. Once rinsed, disinfection can be carried out with a misting machine for even coverage.
