MTA president steps down
09 December 2021
ANDY HODGSON president of the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) has stepped down for personal reasons.
The Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA), the trade association for companies in the UK’s manufacturing technology sector – and which owns and runs the MACH exhibition – has announced with regret that its current president, Andy Hodgson has regrettably had to step down from the role and as an MTA board member for personal reasons.
Dave Burley, senior advisor to the board of NCMT Ltd and current MTA vice-president has stepped into the role early in support of the association and the industry.
James Selka, CEO of the MTA, said: “We would like to thank Andy for the enormous contribution he has made to the association during his time on the board and as president, including during the recent challenging period.
“We are sorry to see Andy retire, but totally respect his decision. We are incredibly lucky to have a talented and strong board representing our members and are grateful and delighted to welcome Dave Burley into the role of president.”
Mr Hodgson, strategic lead – digitalisation at Siemens, has played an active role in the MTA for many years as both a board member and as the chairman of the association’s Technical Committee, a position he relinquished in 2020 to take on the presidency in succession to Marcus Burton.
Mr Hodgson also has a wealth of experience in the manufacturing technologies sector, as well as first-hand experience of the acceleration of digitalisation within the industry through his work at Siemens.
